As an artist, we use our platform as our voice to try and make the world a better place. We find social issues to stand up for and try to bring awareness to those issues. ‘Please Forgive Me’ is a photographic art series that follows the story of a young woman who suffers from anxiety and depression and has suicidal thoughts that makes her question her own life. One of the leading causes of death in the United States is death by suicide, and the majority of the time when someone kills themselves they suffer from a mental health disorder and don’t get help. These images are not going to sugarcoat this topic, these images are supposed to be graphic and hard to look at and make you mad. The majority of the photographs in this series follow the scene of a woman who trapped herself in a basement symbolizing how she’s dying on the inside. Her mind is full of these thoughts that tell her how she will never be good enough, and that makes her want to take her own life—thinking that the only way out of her pain is to end her life.
